PSAC Postpones Conventions 'til 2021

Public health directives in response to the COVID-19 pandemic have banned public gatherings, closed many workplaces, and enforced the self-isolation of Canadians across the country. Adherence to these directives and the uncertainty of their duration has led the Public Service Alliance of Canada's National Board of Directors to postpone all scheduled regional and component conventions until 2021.

The Yukon Employees' Union Triennial Convention scheduled for November 6-8 2020 has been rescheduled for October 29-31, 2021 in accordance with this decision.

The component Executive of YEU will hold a meeting this evening to discuss the impacts of the NBOD's decision and will begin work on the development of a one-year interim budget.

This is new territory for all of us.  We will safeguard the democratic nature of the union organization through the work of your elected Executive and we will keep you informed as we plan the way forward in these ever-changing times.

Please click the following links to see the resolutions presented to the NBOD and passed last week by the national directors of the PSAC.

Please contact me if you have questions or concerns, or wish to discuss how this will impact the work of YEU over the coming year.

In solidarity,

Steve Geick, President
